Obama Phenomenon Reinforces Liberal Stereotypes

If progressive minded people have tired of being branded hopelessly naive souls held hostage to their emotions then Obamamania certainly comes at a bad time.

300 million people in the United States and the Democrats choose one with next to no experience and a host of formidable skeletons in his closet. Why? Because he sounds good (though the unspoken offer to forever absolve one's white liberal guilt helps).

Here's a 15 second, simple, and straightforward commercial I'd love to hear from the inept marketing wing of the RNC:

At one time liberals thought Welfare sounded good.

They also thought public housing projects sounded good.

Many liberals still think New Age music sounds good.

And now they want Barack Obama to be the most powerful man in the world. Why? Because he sounds good.

Back here on Earth that's not going to cut it.

Don't vote Jackass this November.

Yesterday Mark Steyn had a great article that I'd suggest to everybody.

After quoting Obama's comment that people should remember this day as the day America began caring for it's sick Steyn noted that 47 people in the audience for Obama's speech were taken to the hospital for nausea, fainting, etc..

Not only does it highlight how pathetically hyper-emotional these people can be , but it raises a great point about "universal" healthcare. If Barack Obama works 47 people up into a frenzy of self-congratulation so intense they're hospitalized, should we as taxpayers have to foot the bill for that? Should genuinely sick people have to wait in line behind these space cadets while simultaneously chipping in for their care?

I would think the answer would be obvious, but then again it doesn't sound as good..
