Bowling Lefty

Barack Obama was in Pennsylvania on Sunday trying to show that he was a regular guy, but succeeded -in my mind- in doing the opposite. For a "down to earth" campaign stop Obama bowled a game at the Pleasant Valley Recreation Center.

Now I'm a pretty bad bowler who's probably gone twice in the last five years. If I crack 130 that's a great game for me, but on the other end there's little excuse for dipping below 100. Barack Obama bowled a 37.

Maybe it seems like nitpicking, but that score is just too low to go without comment. In the exact opposite spirit as was intended Obama showed that he is so far removed from the average guy that he apparently has never handled a bowling ball before.

And in an extra bit of useless irony: he bowls lefty...

**UPDATE** Watch this video where Mary Katherine Ham tries her hardest to bowl a 37 - the only rule: No intentional gutterballs.

Let's just he how Obama does in golf and tennis. This blog is very shallow.

I suppose you are suggesting that golf is an elitist game and that he would be bad at it.

Well it turns out Obama golfs, and it's not just him:

Obama's church building million-dollar home on Chicago-area golf course

THE CHICAGO TRIBUNE

CHICAGO — Trinity United Church of Christ is building a million-dollar home along a Chicago-area golf course on land that was owned by its former pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, records show.

The 10,340-square-foot home, apparently planned for Wright's retirement, sits on land purchased by the pastor in 2004 for $345,000. In September 2006, the church applied for a building permit, and in December 2006 he sold the land to his church, which took out a $1.6 million mortgage on the property.

The church received a permit in April 2007 for the brick-and-stone structure, set on Odyssey Country Club.

DAMN THE RICH WHITE MAN HUH?

Actually my point is that you should not be judging one's ability to be president by their bowling score or any other sport.

This blog was a cheap-shot at Obama and I'll bet you that you're bothered by the fact a black man has a legitimate shot at being president.

Slightly ironic that you'd call "cheap shot" and then in the same sentence suggest I'm bothered by a black man having a shot at the presidency.

For the record, if there was any one person in the world I could choose to be my president it would be a black man. His name is Thomas Sowell. He's an economist, social scientist, columnist, and all around genius.

Actually he's 100% black while Obama's only 50%. So I guess I get more diversity points (or whatever it is you liberals collect and redeem for self-esteem) than you. I win.

I'm sure you do like "Uncle Tom Sowell". But you'd probably even sell him out for a white alternative, if it came down to it, only because you would not want a black man to become President.
